Reflections from the book club March - May book club
Ben Curran wrote -> One of my most profound takeaways has been about the connections you make during collaborative projects. In my mind, I have always focused on the connections between the students and how to make sure those were meaningful.
Michael Graffin wrote -> This book is an excellent resource for anyone considering global projects or for any teacher who is just interested in expanding their own classroom view. The book itself models a collaborative global project in every way imaginable.

What are the benefits of hosting a book club?
The point of the Flat Classroom book is to promote global collaboration. By encouraging book clubs to happen during the launch, the resources we've created to link classrooms will kick in.
The book has:
We've experimented to invent a book that can be mashed up, shared, and utilized to help you experience the tools and USE the tools. It also has special ways to help you connect with others using the book. We want to help you to find other teachers just like you who want to collaborate and designed the book with that in mind. This is about global collaboration OF ALL KINDS at all age levels: college, k12, teacher pd and is not just about Flat Classroom Projects but is full of case studies and information on many of the best global collaborative networks in the world. Join us! If you want to join a bookclub, just join http://flatclassrooms.ning.com and monitor our events to find one you can join. Watch our announcements here for information on upcoming clubs. We'll keep you posted. To see where global collaboration can take you, just take a look at where it took us at our first conference in Doha, Qatar in 2009. |
How do I sign up?
We will do our best to accommodate your schedule but we are full time teachers. There may be cases where we have another webinar scheduled at a time close to yours and invite you to join us. We have no idea how many people will take us up on our author but will do our best to facilitate this global discussion on collaboration in the classroom during January - March of next year!
