Chapter 2: 

Moving from anecdotal evidence to current research, the flattening of the classroom is not only between students but also incorporates the modern 21st century researcher with unprecedented access to the modern classroom in online and blended environments. Citizen science projects are discussed and new paradigms for research are shared along with current research in global collaboration.

Virtual Communications video by Casey Cox

This video won the first Flat Classroom project competition and features the two members of the self proclaimed "c" team. Casey in Camilla, Georgia and Cannelle in Bangladesh worked together with an energy and excitement that demonstrated what is possible.
